RCM recent email will cause increase of the purchase of the XforX coins for couple of next months. (Of cause they will be deposited to the bank accounts). Not nice to loose MC status and pay shipping for everything, including even circulation packs....

No If you dont have free shipping then you might not buy a coin you dont really need anyways lol. Look at the postive side....

Free shipping is really not that enticing any more. Some dealers have free shipping or discount that pretty much cover the shipping fee. Not that I buy that many coins from RCM any more but it would be nice to able to buy certain coins before others

My concern of free shipping is only regarding the best RCM items - circulation packs. Since anyway bought recently and will buy very limited amount from RCM, so do not care about shipping. But to order $2.5 or $5 or $10 face value circulation pack and pay shipping CDN 10-12....will make these items not really attractive for me.

The Mint offers free shipping on most circulation packs and other FV coins now. Even when you had to pay, I believe it was 2.99 for lettermail on the circ packs. Certainly, free shipping is a poor excuse to maintain MC status (and pay full issue price on all of your purchases) for the reasons others have noted. Seems like most of the 'leaks' came from RFD and since many users over there have drastically scaled back their activity, I guess no one has bothered to scout out the new release. It must be available at CP by now...just no real urgency to seek it out.

Quote: On topic.....any ideas on what coins are coming out in April? A visit to a local are Post Office revealed that there is one page of new releases coming out. While I don't recall each and every coin, I do remember a few that caught my attention. 2016 Regular Proof Set with a different Trans-Atlantic Cable themed design on the silver dollar. 90th Birthday of Queen Elizabeth II Mother Earth tear drop coin I'm sure it won't be long before someone shares the entire April lineup.

I predict that there will be some debate on the Tear Drop coin. Some will say it's just another "first of its kind" coin, but it really is. lol I'm also jaded by the price drops last December, and have vowed to wait until major discounts on most coins. The only RCM coins purchased so far this year at issue price are the Pysanka, the Cherry Blossom, and soon to be purchased, the Tear Drop Coin. Mintage is high at 7,000, but will get it for my collection anyway because I like it.

If you take a brief look at the other forum, the question about RCM April release details leakage resolved - the traditional mintage and Canadian themes or commemorative events on the coins not in the trend any more. They not hot not releasable , hence non collectible. If RCM would mint coin with the coloured rabbit and his friends, or coins with embedded stone chip claiming that this is piece of meteorite, or some other gimmick stuff - we would have several pages of the details.

Ah, I'm so disappointed....this must mean the 3rd in the Weather Phenomenon series, the springtime theme, is not a robin wth little wings that flap up and down to the tune of Rockin Robin when a secret button hidden in the Queen's right ear is pressed.

The next $100 for $100 coin is coming out in April, it depicts two Orca Whales swimming side by side. The 2016 50-cent roll is also coming out in April.

The 2016 50-cent roll is also coming out in April. thank you for info! means, collectors have a chance till june(?) to load them to get the Platinum MC, and be quick to grab the 1936-2016 2oz Voyageur coin Serious questions for experienced Roll Hunters, appreciate for the info: 1. Is it possible to get at the Bank "special 50c roll" same as from RCM, or the sleeve will not be the same? 2. Any roll that could be taken at the bank - is it packaged to the "original" RCM sleeve, or banks pack the coins with the package from retail? (some rolls I see as clear plastic sleeve and some paper with face value printed - what is the RCM original?)

Silveroid unless something has recently changed, in the year 2005 RCM discontinued providing banks with 50c for circulation into the public realm. Even though for decades prior they were uncommon, I assume the reason RCM eventually stopped supplying is because the 50c is not compatible with vending machines, meters, etc. Rolls of 50c can only be purchased directly from the mint or from various dealers. As for the difference in the roll packaging, perhaps someone can answer although I've suspected what is purchased from RCM online as opposed to RCM stores or dealers might vary from year to year?
