What? Beyond the obvious of the x#-coin sets offered by RCM, there's never ending possibilities of other ways to create unique and imaginative sets. Anyone who's unfamiliar with the topic, set collecting simply involves collecting a group of NCLT, whereby each and every coin in the set shares at least one common characteristic. Collecting sets in this way can be rewarding and ultimately satisfying because after you've decided upon a focus, eventually the completion of your set is....well it's done, an achievement, something accomplished, all that (aside from adding any future RCM releases). Some examples of collector sets: a common theme, design, feature, metal, year, size, weight, shape, denomination, or any sort of special or personal significance. Okay, so and then what? How about to make the sharing of sets as entertaining and interesting as possible and we begin with 1, then 2, 3 NCLT coins in a set, and so on? At the top of your post, please state both number and the title you've given it, plus any other significant details you'd like to share. But if your chosen title/commonality is not blatantly obvious, feel free to pose a "what's this?" challenge. If numbers in different sets are duplicated, that's perfectly reasonable. The more the merrier, but perhaps we might try to keep a more or less semblance of a sequential order? Maybe starting with just 1 to 10 and see how it goes? Considering this thread is posted on a Cdn NCLT forum, the primary focus should naturally focus on Cdn NCLT, although I suppose it's possible that some completed sets might also include a few foreign NCLT. (Hoping that's okay by the mods.) If anyone hasn't quite completed a set but is working on one or prefers not to capture actual photos, a few stock photos to illustrate are fine. Otherwise if you simply want to list the specifics, images of NCLT are easy for others to google on the web. Anybody have other suggestions to add? It's not my intention that this be "my" thread and these are just some ideas that popped into my head. Whatever you think has potential to increase group participation and interest, please offer up your thoughts.

To begin by example: ONE - 3c collectionWithout a doubt, this is the quickest, smallest and least costly set in my NCLT collection because RCM has only ever issued one 3c coin. It's sterling silver, gold plated and for whatever reason, bears the image of a beaver and is also the same size as a 5c piece.

Nice! I still need to find a 2005 to complete this set

@ Luc. Zombucks, the name says it. lol! And your set of specimen loonies is totally awesome, an interesting branch from traditional loonie collections.
@ SilverDon, what you say about silver dollars, year by year, I believe as well. Their current expensive price, particularly for special editions, is also one of the reasons why I've come to believe that NCLT issues which can be collected as part of a series or theme have a much greater likelihood of sustaining future collector interest and demand. Otherwise hot new releases just becomes overtaken by the next one and the next one....and in the frenzy of NCLT issues what's no longer "new" soon gets forgotten.
I have another small set, please ignore the fact I notice that I should have wiped the coin capsule prior to taking the pic.
