While CRH dime rolls I found a 1974 D Lincoln Memorial cent that appears to be on a dime planchet. The coin in question is in the middle of the photo. Any opinions?

A couple more photos of the coin on top of a normal 1974 D and on top of a dime.

It looks like the edge was ground down, sanded, or maybe a Dryer Coin. Can you get a clear picture of the edge?

If it was a cent on a dime planchet it would be clad in color. I think you have an altered cent.PSD.

Thanks for your opinions.

The coin weighs 2.69 g

I've attached another photo that shows the edge.

The coin is the exact circumference of a dime.

See how the edge was rolled over and pressed down. I believe someone was trying to load rolls of dimes with cents.

The edge of the coin is like a nickel I just posted a couple days ago,it turned out to be caused by a commercial dryer.

Been for a spin or two times in a dryer. Still too thick to be used as a dime.
Rest in Peace

It is probably thicker than a nickel?
