Hello all,

I have found a coin in my late mother's little collection. It is a 1913 25 cent coin. There is a bit of wear and tear on the coin. Any tips on how to learn if there's any value to the coin?

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Here is a better focused pic of the 2nd side of the coin. A little scratched but still a lot of detail on the coin.

Looks to be about an F12 but with some rim damage I would say it's probably worth $10-20

For future reference, you might want to see if there is a Red Book/Blue Book for Canadian currency like we do for ours here in America. The should have an up to date price for each grade

The "blue" book reference for Canadian coins is either by the coinsandcanada web site or the "trends" which is published in a canadian numismatic newpaper...

I agree with the grade of fine - details - rim damage... as for what it's worth... john is right melt value unless you find someone who really wants it...

Bullion value as mentionned above, but remember, a coin is always worth what someone is willing to pay for it. So if its the last coin needed to complete an album or if a collector isn't particularly bothered by rim damage, it could be worth a premium for the right buyer.
