It does not matter what the naysayers want to believe.
I now have an undeniable
proof of Bigfoot:

And I still chuckle every time I look at it.

I guess it fits tho with, SOME collectors who are into conspiracy theories and other weird oddities... but still this is really getting out of hand.
Agreed - way out of hand. But a hobby is about fun. And I laughed when I saw this = fun. If silver was still up as high as it was a few years ago, I would have passed. Plus I could not resist the pun of saying I now have a proof of Bigfoot.

However, just like it would be unwise to go to an old fashioned mountain man for intricate details on the best way to run a city-based business or on how to invest in the stock market. I personally think it a bit lopsided to think the most qualified people to tell us what is, or is not, truly in the wilderness would be those who:
1. Don't have even a hundredth of the knowledge of the wilderness like the American Indians did (aka most of us) who each had their own name/knowledge of a large apelike animal that walked upright.
2. Make TV shows that appeal to masses b/c they know it will sell.
Google "new type of freshwater dolphin" and take the first link to a National Geographic article about, "The discovery of a wholly new species—the first such find in a century—is thus exciting news for biologists and conservation officials," in Brazil ... in 2014.
I am not willing to think that b/c I "just know" something is or is not true, it lumps me (and others with differing opinions) into a scatterbrained mindset.
...one of the main lessons I always emphasized with my students - no matter the topic.
