Well I finally was able to open the capsule and was disappointed to see hair line scratches on the queens neck and up through the hair. You can really see it through the 10x loupe. I was hoping the scratches was on the capsule but it wasn't But let's not forget it is bullion and its just luck of the draw to get a perfect one!

It's really not very nice to show nice photos of these first beast coins. Now I want them. And my want list ends about 13 feet from my desk already.
Lovely coins, even if they do have a few hairlines. As you say, still not bad for "bullion".
If you don't mind answering, who did you purchase them from?

Stunning! I really like that Lion. Ans I like the Queen's effigy much better on this coin than the one on this side of the pond.

Silverfox2010 thanks for the photos.
This coin looks great. Glad it came out just as I was wondering what other gold coins to collect. Didnt want Kangas, didnt want Eagles, Buffalo's, maple leafs are boring, etc.
So this fits the bill for me, completely different from the above mentioned coins (which I made add the best animal gold coin are the somalian elephants but thats in another thread lol).
I can only imagine the 1/4 ounce gold coins are going to look great!
And to think these are just bullion coins, wow.

Glad you guys like the beast coin. I know the more I look at this stunning coin I'm looking forward to collecting the rest of the series. And the unlimited mintage doesn't bother me in the slightest. Much nicer to look at then some of the same old same old bullion coins out there. As long as they keep the premiums low I'm a happy collector!

Thanks silverfox for the pics. The coin really does look pretty special. I wonder how much detail the 1/4 oz will show under the naked eye. There seems to be a lot going on on this coin (not that that's a bad thing :))

What does the JC at the bottom of the coin stand for?
