I like 20for20 too.
The Stamp and Coin set could be still good, but the printed 25c coins not the best.

Mintage of 20for20 will be 200K-300K, and the set I think 20K-30K.

Btw, do not gift these to the kids, they do not care about Star Trek, and for sure, simple looking space ship will be boring for them.

Any thoughts on the 4 coin Canada National Heroes series?

Unfortunately, I don't really like the image of the firefighter. Too much like a sticker and less like a coin IMO. I doubt the paramedics, police or military will be any better. Too bad.

sorry, not interested. As you noted, it looks like a sticker on a coin. Mintage is 10000. Is that the price for just one coin with the case?

Agreed. The design could have been solid if it was fully engraved (and without colour). Not for me.

K.R. was fooled probably.
Everything was good - the theme and the engraved design...but then photoshopped "sticker" has been used and destroyed all appeal.

I just watched the video from my rep which included the actual FF coin. It's not quite as bad as the photo but it's still not very well done IMO.

Lostwords the issue price is 69.95 with the free case shipping with the first coin.

The glass maple thing is horrible. Wow. So bad. Someone stuck a candy on a coin.

I kind of like the polar bear w/ blue enamel in concept but even in the video, the cub looks bad. Doesn't look natural and a face not even his mother could love.

Agree with opinions regarding fireman coin.
Very appealing theme...not so appealing design.
Murano glass maple leaf...not connecting with me at all.
I don't like the colour and shape of the glass..
Not easy design to shape maple leafs from blown glass...the fellas in Italy must have had a tough go with this concept...

The concept behind the Canada National Heroes series is an excellent one. However the painted/sticker image zooming out from the coin I think would appeal most to a younger age group, say 10 yrs +.

Only 4 of the 16 new coins are unadorned!
It's a sad trend.

Agreed, good concept. I would imagine the RCM will expand on this in the future with other professions and similar themes.

I'd hope so. Perhaps someone made a strong point to RCM -- they've released a proliferation of Superman, etc highly commercialized fantasy themed coins over the recent years.

As a Canadian Govt Crown Corp, at the same time they totally ignore Canadians, real people, who everyday put their lives on the line to benefit others by virtue of their chosen profession. True heroes, not fantasy ones.

I like the FF coin, probably because I am a volunteer FF as well as a coin collector. I hope you guys are wrong about looking like a sticker applied. Anyways it's one I had to have.

Rg500s, I've always held great appreciation and respect for volunteer fire-fighters. It's a considerable time commitment and requires a huge amount of dedication. Hats off to you!

If I was a volunteer fire-fighter I'd certainly buy this one because the coin would be something that I can relate with. It seems the primary focus is all too often only on mintage and resale value, lesser on the signfigance of why a collector coin is meaningful.

As for the colouring, preference is all in the eye of the beholder!
