Took a lot of effort to get the right lighting but I have some microscope pictures.

In a couple pics you can see the secondary flow of the gold on top of the other side of the crack.

Surprised this coin got out of the mint.

I would exchange it with the Mint. My gold delta box was damaged so I shipped the coin back to them and they already shipped me a replacement.

Mine has what appears to be a scratch. The rep told me that there was no guarantee that I'd get a replacement.

A German dealer sent back all his for replacement. I wonder if he got a refund instead.

Tomorrow I'll check again to see if it is raised (thanks, WildflowerAB).

Pay attention to the new COA.
Since the coin has limited mintage, doubtful, that RCM holds many of them for replacement, so the COA could be with the replacement mark.

A COA with a replacement mark? I've never heard of that. In the case of banknotes, an entirely new one is issued by the Bank of
Canada to replace the damaged one, would a COA be replaced if only the box or coin was damaged?

I am not sure, Wildflower, what is the RCM policy, and how they treat the replacements, but here and there we can see the COA number ending by "R" which is evidence for Replacement.
Most recent / famous such cases we can observe with "Last Penny rolls"

I wouldn't return it if there is a chance I won't get a replacement.

How bad is the scratch? Is it visible to the naked eye or is more obvious under a magnifying glass?

If you look at something close enough you would see flaws everywhere.

Its like when you get a brand new car and the first time you get a little scratch on it you are upset about it and you stare at it. Anyone else would not even notice the little scratch.

If they only minted 1500 of the Delta and sold all of them then how can they be doing replacements?
You may end up with a refund and no coin.

Would agree with MoneyPenney and Darryl - do not return this coin if no guarantee that it will be replaced .
It nice to have perfect item, but if the scratch not visible by naked eye - nobody cares. If it visible, but very small - it will be noticeable only for one week.
I believe, even with the small imperfection , you will be able to sell thic coin for issue plus hundred or two extra....
Keep it if you like it.

While I know nothing about the process at the mint, if any NCLT that's minted is noticed to be damaged, then melted, it would seem unusual for that to be counted in total mintage numbers. Likewise, if any were sold and returned because they were flawed and an equal number were minted as replacements, would that change the mintage? Because I tend to think of mintage numbers only in terms of how many exist in the public realm as opposed to sold + replaced = 2.

My interpretation of mintage is coins struck, not sold.

In this case they claim a total mintage of 1500 and sales of 1500.
In saying that, the Mint has done some unusual things over the years.
Excellent question to ask the mint at the next event that they hold.

Thanks for your comments everyone. I took a closer look today, and as you can see it's visible by the naked eye. As wildflower suggests, it could have been a cracked die.

Great analogy, MoneyPenny! Maybe I'm too picky, but with this flaw I'd expect to find a few flyers under the windshield for "Discount Dent Repair."

I got my replacement delta in and I did not get a replacement COA. I did get a lower # than I had previously though.
