Ordered my gold this morning as well. I am not sure about the 4 coin silver series; three coin one ounce series and the stand alone one ounce. The coin and stamp set, yes I ordered as well. The mintages for the silver coins 11,500. What is the opinion on the silver coins?

As reported on the other forum, reps have sent out emails for the Gold Star Trek coin to people in the top tiers of MC. They say the mintage is 1500.

I wonder if people in the lower tiers will even get a chance to order.

This is will fly off the shelves in half a day.
This could be the keeper, only 1500 issued and there are thousands if not the millions fans, who would like to get the official Canadian gold, unique shaped coin.
Whoever interested in re-sell - only few clicks and there is a hundreds $$ in pocket!
I suggest, start call the mint now, to avoid the disappointment.

It's 26.68mm (1.12 inches) by 17.50mm (0.69 inches).

Is that big enough?

Is the first Superman gold coin still doing well on resale? This one seems like a comparative bargain though I think it will be even easier to counterfeit.

Is it sold out yet?

Some coin collectors participate in both coin related forums, so I'll try to reply here, it will be visible.

I still do not like the gold Star Trek coin.
I more like traditional stuff. Round coin with "delta" sign - yes, will be the best.

But I also know, that coin collectors have different taste and preferences, they might be Star Trek fans or want this coin, or will be reselling it.
So knowing, that it will be the hype, I would say - if you want to get it, do not hesitate.
And thanks to the members, who know the things in advance and always share....

Rep email reports 57% sold out just now. Projects sell out in a day or two max.

I can't order it yet but my rep said he will reserve a gold Star Trek coin for me.

If I also order the rest of the silver Star Trek coins the bill will come to $1630 before tax. With that large bill Platinum Plus status may be within reach for me.

The only problem is the coin won't ship until September. So will the purchase go to the MC program before the expiry at year end June 30?

MoneyPenney, I was wondering the same thing so I just checked my profile on the website and it shows it's going towards this year's membership requirements. Of course I'm not sure if this means I'll be charged right now for a coin that won't ship until Sept, that would not be good, as they usually don't charge until the item ships.

The mint only charges your CC when the item ships.

Got 3 through my rep. Helps to maintain RCM status plus a bonus of Sept. delivery and 30 days to return after that.

This is better than 2013 Superman gold (confession - I didn't by 2013 Superman Gold - just the silver coins for which I still have some)

Generally that is true but for this item, you can opt for a 6 monthly pre-payment plan that starts now.

I'm also unclear on whether unfulfilled orders will count toward the current years spending for the MC. My rep noted in an e-mail in March that open subscriptions only count for the period in which they are shipped. That is, if coin 4 of a series is shipped in July, it will count towards MC next year even though it might have been ordered as part of a sub in January. Presumably in that example, coins 1-3 would be included in this years spend. That makes some sense I guess.

In the case of these gold coin, it would be odd to be included in the current year spend since it's known that it won't ship until September. That said, the Mint doesn't always make a lot of sense with the way they do things so it's probably anyone's guess and subject to change.

With so many people ordering more than one Gold Star Trek, those in the lower tiers or without reps are not going to get one. The coins could be sold out today.

The coin will likely be the first in a series, so this one will be very valuable, like the 2013 Superman coin.

Remember this is the delta symbol worn by Captain Kirk. Every captain has different design. So maybe next year we have the one worn by Captain Picard.

Billing will occur in September 2016. Will count towards next cycle master club. Please let me know what anyone thinks of the silver series of Star Trek released today. I am on the fence about these. Help!

The Gold one sells very quickly, and sure, why to order 1 only?
If will be shipped on September, there is a lot of time to accumulate the funds (for example by reselling the other two).

This is same as all the Superman (and Batman) coins released last years. Too generic, too many.
