NoPoMoCo Valued Member United States 403 Posts	Posted 06/28/2016 07:26 am Reverse was struck through something. The toning seems odd, as well as the metal flow. Could be grease, a lot of grease. If so, a very greasy Greaser. 1982 a transition year - this seems to be an impaired copper, not a zincoln. Report this Post to the Staff

Halo1st Pillar of the Community United States 2775 Posts	Posted 06/28/2016 10:27 am The rims seem to be defined. The obverse shows weakness on the right side of the bust. The reverse is more puzzling and could be Struck Through Grease. Might double check the weight as I'm not sure grease alone is the sole cause. Thanks, Doug. Report this Post to the Staff
coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 06/28/2016 1:11 pm Note on all reverse images you will see the devices widened because of the heavy grease almost blocking out a lot of the devices. Each one that it is affected looks widened. That is what we would see on a stuck through grease error. The dies are tapered with the tops of the devices narrow and widened at the base. When the devices get blocked (at the tops) then just the lower part of the device is formed. Possibly the the die was wiped with a cloth spreading the grease evenly in some devices, but yet leaving enough clearance to see some of the device on the coin. So it is a Struck Through Grease error. Cudos to those who called it. 19,970 Edited by coop 06/28/2016 1:11 pm Report this Post to the Staff
