I think large date. Notice how the inner part of the 9 points toward the bottom of the 7, and the bottom of the 7 appears below the bottom of the 0

Large date.

And Rackster, you're very right about their rarity in circulation. Over the years I've accumulated almost 500 1970-S Lincolns. I have found ONE of the small date variety.

I agree, Large Date.

I have never found a Small Date in circulation, but I have found plenty of Large.

I've found 1- 1970S Small Date and it was in a customer wrapped roll of cents.
