Slabbed in a TPG holder AU 53, but does this Morgan dollar have original toning? Last time I saw one like this the dealer swore it was smoked or artifically colored. Whatchuthink?

Could be an old cleaning that has naturally retoned over time. Hence market acceptable au53

I have a natural toned Morgan that looks dark grey/black on the reverse. When you tilt it under light though you can see it is actually toned Dark red/Purple. Does yours do this in hand?
My hunch is this is natural toning caused by spending a great deal of time in an old coin album.

The coin may have market acceptable toning, but it does have an unnatural look.

Looks NT to me. It probably sat in an album or some other environment for a long time to get such dark toning.

Looks fine to me, but it is not something that I'd buy.

Legit toning, and not that uncommon on Morgans.

Looks original to me, but not terribly attractive.
