Check the rim and you will probably see what I call the "clad sandwich". It has to be clad because of the year, but when I metal detect and I find a dime I immediately turn it on its side to look at it because it is faster than rubbing off the dirt and squinting at the date. If I see two different metal I know immediately it is clad and continue on.
