Darkly toned and would bet it would not X grade ICCS 66.

There are 5 very apparent scratches on the reverse of that coin I can't possibly imagine it at an ICCS 66 or 65, actually surprised for a 66 at PCGS and not lower. Toning is pretty hideous but that shouldn't change the technical grade.

Thanks Silverwolf, I just returned home from being away for the weekend and missed the auction you mentioned, also the MS-66s I've bought for this set so far are all graded by ICCS. I missed the Victoria North auction last year which seemed to be a good source of George VI dimes. The interesting thing with that set is I haven't been able to find out what happened to the coins that didn't sell. I have heard there was a lot of buyer fatigue in that auction and I would be interested in making some bids on the leftover material, anyone know of any of these for sale, particularly any George VI dimes?

Nobody seems to know what became of the Victoria North coins that had no bidder in last year's auction...

I think the first place you would need is the Auctioneer...Perhaps they could shed light on what happened to any coins that went unsold in the auction.

Thank you for the responses...I tried putting in an offer on the 1944 dime, the ask price is pretty high so I am not holding my breath! If anyone else knows of any George VI dimes for sale in MS 66 I am still looking to purchase...

I have 2x 1944 10c in ICCS MS66 but I don't think I can sell on the forum since I don't have enough post. I plan to do an auction on iCollector in early October and both will be listed. I have also these in MS66 ICCS the 1940, 1952, 1953, 1956, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963 HC, 1965, 1966, 1968 HC.

Thanks Hugues and everyone here for pointing me in the right direction...I will contact London Coin Centre about the 1940 and would love to hear people's opinions about this coin...does everyone think it's a true MS-66? Also Hugues coins are lovely...

Still looking for George VI dimes in ICCS MS-66 if anybody knows the whereabouts of some for sale...
Also if anyone would like to weigh in about the 1940 George VI ICCS coin mentioned in thedollarman's Sept 3 link I would be interested in hearing what people think of the grade assigned by ICCS...is it a true MS-66?
Thanks again for your thoughts!

it looks to be a wonderful example. don't be put off by the somewhat crappy photos, I just received an MS-66 half from them, the coin arrived quickly and was packaged properly and safely, and to my surprise their photos undersold the coin a fair bit. if they represented the coin properly I probably would have lost to much stronger bidding.
