Silveroid observed: Quote:Excalibur, NuMoose, PocketChange, BiBo, Yup, Neil....and others that I do not remember names, were active collectors, MC members. The fact, that they do not participate here, is evidence that they not interested in NCLT anymore. The reasons could be different, but I would blame the flood of NCLT and bullion from everywhere, and disability of RCM to keep the "mid-layer collectors" - people who are old customers, but can not spend much money on the new coins. Hi Silveroid! Thanks for remembering me. You're quite right, my interest in the RCM's NCLT offerings has diminished. In fact, it's just plain gone! It's been over a year since I purchased a coin, and my MC membership has lapsed. As you said, the "flood" of coins is the major factor or me. I'm afraid the mint has gone down the same road as Canada Post, which ruined stamp collecting many decades ago. Too many coins, poor designs, repetitive themes, and over pricing (just to mention a few of the reasons). I still check in here, but I have little to contribute. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and a healthy New Year to all!

NuMoosematist. Good to hear from you. I've missed your posts as well as those from pocketchange50. Couldn't agree more with your comments. I feel the same way. I think a lot of us do. Too many coins, poor designs, repetive themes all definitely overpriced. I stopped buying mint product too long ago but still check in here occasionally. Happy holidays to everyone.

I received an email from my rep. today saying that redemption codes will be mailed (not emailed) within the next couple days.

I have been a MC member for about 5 years and a Platinum Plus for the last two. To date for the MC calendar year, I have purchased one Library of Parliament coin which I just sold and a 2017 Legend of the Penny set which I will return next week. I have no intentions on buying anything else as I am tired of the endless supply of NCLT being supercharged to consumers month after month after month after month after month after month.........

After seeing the liquidation of RCM coins on the shopping channel with Bromberg, I will be cutting back tremendously. I do have the 13 coin subscription celebrating 150th as well as the Big coin series subscription. I will not be buying anything else unless it really grabs me. Let us see if my powers of resisting the next new big thing stands up in 2017. Also I am totally disgusted with the way they have handled this redemption code reward. There is NONE forthcoming after being told many times "only a few weeks away". It has been 6 months!!

Quite frankly, I have ignored all of the rhetoric of any rewards. The way I look at it, if something comes out of it, it will be a nice bonus, and a surprise. It will not be a 'reason for me to try to get to the next level.
I will continue my current 'buying/collecting' as long as the particular coins meet my requirements or desires of the day. This is MY hobby after all. I will continue to purchase the items for gifts (think Christmas and Canada Day sets) as my benefactors really appreciate them.

The three largest Canadian NCLT collectors' on the NGC Registry have all announced that they are done at the end of 2016. It is kind of sad, because Dan Hughes, Augustus and Martens are big buyers who have generated a lot of interest in the hobby. I've watched auctions where these guys have bid up PF70 NCLT to $1000 USD whereas the coins are less than $100 USD raw. They are such big buyers, that Colonial Acres selects their NGC submissions based on what these guys need in their registry sets. It is a little worrying when the biggest players/advocates in the hobby start walking away. Hopefully, some new collectors will fill the void.

Fill the void? I don't think the video game playing, multi-media watching, snap chatting, face booking, etc. generations of the future will have feet big enough to fill those shoes.

CROOKS They should be ashamed of themselves. John Moore is still working there? how sweet it is, a job without consequences.

Let's say directly, that the people, who was responsible for new MC program - failed in this. Unfortunatelly for collectors, who had a hope for changes.

As I said before, the redemption program is peanuts considering the amount of money spent on coins. $2000 - 1% or $20 $5000 - 1.5% or $75 $10,000 - 2% or $200 So for people that spend $2000 get only $20 back? That is insulting. That would hardly pay for a few cups of coffee. And those that spend less than $2000 get nothing. So what are the benefits of the Master Club for lower tiers besides free shipping? Dealers have better rewards programs than the RCM. Gatewest Coins have 5% off most new issues. Colonial Acres had 5% off for VIP members but switched to a point system recently. And Canadian Coin and Currency has a point system.
