I received my letter yesterday and the $130 offer.

I already have a MC case so I'll be using mine on a coin in the next couple of releases.
I'm sure there will be something related to Canada's 150th that will catch my eye.
There will be a deluge of Canada 150 coins coming up I'm sure.

Now we go from $130 case this year to a 1% rebate next year (Platinum level). Severe drop off in the value of the program.

So, I received my letter today. I logged in as they stated, going through mint.ca/redeem. After you login then keying in the unique redemption code they provide you in the letter, you only get one chance at it at redeeming it.

They also state that once you choose the $130 for eligible mint products, you cannot go back and change your mind and choose the case once you click checkout. It is a point of no return.

Anyhow, when I saw that message, I logged off (without choosing anything) so that I can search what to buy or choose the case. Anyhow, I tried to login, and retyped my redemption code, it now states it's invalid. Gee!

So, be careful. On Tuesday, I will need to call in and waste my time on the phone.

Anyone else have that issue?

I can't believe it. A certain fiery place has frozen over. I finally got my redemption code after "a couple of weeks".
I'm happy to see the RCM has finally took a step in the right direction but as many others have suggested, the hobby is not standing tall on its finest day.
As to the Master's Club....
1) yes, it was foolish to wait this long to issue the codes, discouraging repeat sales/interest.
2) as mention by soulbrother3, including the new terms for the MC program in this letter really makes you realize the $130 to $20 value of being a member.
3) they need to actually make the membership worthwhile. In sure I've ranted about this before but What I think they should do is make coins exclusive to members by issuing free coins of the same design that reflect the tiers. A platinum coin for platinum level, and gold coin for gold level (even if small) and a silver coin for the lowest tier. Platinum plus members get 1 of each. The Mintage should reflect the actual number of members, with each account/member getting the corresponding coin(s) free, Days of flipping coins are done so if someone wants to have multiple accounts to get more coins, so be it. They've earned them after throwing away their money similarly to a brand new car just off the lot after hitting the Hwy for the first time. Limits the coins. Why not even issue COAs according to how much you spend, with the highest getting 00001. And do all the coins with the same untouched die, and what you get is what you get. It'll entice you to want to (theoretically) get a better quality, rare coin. And it let's you see how many members there are where you stand among your Numi-buddies.

Did anyone else receive an offer for an additional $100 or free coin next year?

I'm platinum plus.

Coinsplus,

I can't help but chuckle. I didn't think it was going to be easy redeeming these. Thanks for the heads up.

Yes, I did. I have to decide if I want the free coin or the $100 by Feb. 1, 2017. If your rep don't hear from you by Feb. 1, you automatically get the $100 redemption.

I'm platinum plus as well.

I wonder if this free coin is addition to the free coin given out every year.

The information booklet says that you will only receive the free coin if you reach platinum plus or prestige by September 1st of the program year.

I am platinum prestige but don't see anything about the $100 or free coin on my letter, just the redemption code to be used on a single transaction only.

The way I read it is if you reach plus or prestige by Sept 1 and you were not at that level the previous year you will get the free coin for the current and the following year.

I had the same problem. When I called the Mint, they said they didn't have a procedure for invalid redemption codes, but would call me back. They never did. A week later I called them again, and they were able to reactivate my code, but only for a phone order, not for online.

When I asked for a Masters Club case, they said I couldn't have one because I got one last year. They tried very hard to sell me some coins, but I told them I wanted the case, and not the regular RCM case, but the MC case. He finally gave in and said I would receive the MC case in a few days.

I got my code but first time entered it came back as invalid. I am on the phone right now to settle it and the Library coin that
I have not yet received despite unanswered emails and attempts to contact by phone that went unanswered. we will see if I can wait long enough on the phone for them to answer this time. I will post any information that I can get if I can stand waiting long enough to have someone answer my call.
Has anyone formally complained about their service? If so, to who? Did you receive an answer?

Update. I got through to the Mint customer service and explained all of my issues. The girl opened a dossier for my complaint and someone will call me back in the next couple of days. I have had many problems relating to the website, unanswered emails etc and will hopefully resolve them at that time.
My 'Library' coin will be released from production on the 16th of January. 2 to 4 week delivery.
As for the issue related to this thread, I was told to either add coins to an order I made this weekend in order to use the full value of the redemption code, or to call back at the phone number on the redemption code letter at a later date to order coins with the code. When I mentioned that I had not noticed the phone number on the letter and was relieved that they had a specific number that would be quicker to order from I was told it didn't matter and that number would lead right back to the same person I was speaking to anyway.
She said they are aware of problems with the redemption code system. If it doesn't work for you, then you just have to call but be forewarned that you can only redeem code once so have enough coin choices to fill your code value. That shouldn't be too hard for most...

My code didn't work either, it came up as Invalid too. I dread the waiting I'll have to do on the phone to get this fixed.

I called the Mint last week using that phone number provided on that letter. It still takes a minimum of 20 minutes of waiting on the line before you get a human being. You will constantly hear the repeated voice message that they are busy, but please wait, etc. Anyhow, gave them my redemption code, and away I ordered some lame coins.

I received my notification with the $130 credit. I hadn't tried it yet but will tonight - hopefully I don't have the same problem as others and end up having to call.

I'm a Platinum MC member and the benefit for me in the past has been free shipping and access to the "sold out" coins. However, since the RCM now charges sales tax for some U.S. states, except for the $ for $ coins, it is less costly for me to either buy from the Post Office (if the coins make it to be listed there) as they have free shipping and no tax OR buy from a U.S. dealer such as Talisman which doesn't charge tax. With the U.S. dealer I have to pay shipping but the exchange rate on buying from Canada vs there price makes the overall purchase cheaper. For example the 2017 Legacy of the Penny Set cost me $46 U.S. more than it would have from Talisman.

It seems now that very rarely the RCM has a product that can't be obtained elsewhere - and even in the case of a MC special silver dollar - the premium over the RCM price paid to a speculator on ebay, if one had to have that coin, would be made up by the savings elsewhere.

The 1% rebate that MC Platinum membership offers (max $49.99) is hardly an incentive.

So, unless things change significantly, my RCM purchases will be finished after I use up my $130 credit. My overall savings may be even greater if I wait longer on a lot of coins as they drop even below original issue price.
