Been a few weeks since I checked in. A lot of time spent at the camera. I think I figured out a lot of my problems with my pictures, still far from being an expert. Here is a coin I shot with an LED flashlight. Like I said...less is better. I was trying with too much lighting and boy howdy was that the wrong approach...tell me what you think...

decent for a flashlight, and would pass for cataloging a collection or posting on ebay, BUT... you can never try too much with lighting.

How can we tell? Does the coin look like that in hand or not?

Andrew, that is quite close to in hand....as far as I can tell. I am waiting on some Jansjo 3W lights now that will replace the flashlight. Unfortunately the first ones I got were junkola for whatever reason so I am waiting on some more. (I think the seller tried to sell me some re-boxed ones)...Wade that is what I am doing....always experimenting. I have the white background down now (an Amazon requirement) and basically am only photographing for reselling.
