And I did Google about them, but after reading about fake gold coins of the 1917 I wanted to ask for help here. Maybe someone can determine if it's real or fake. Also there are holes in them. Hogarth Pillar of the Community United Kingdom 735 Posts	Posted 10/04/2016 10:47 am Looking at how close up the textured surface of the piece of kitchen roll appears in these photos I'm wondering if these imitation sovereigns are smaller than the real thing too and may have been made simply as decorative items. What is the diameter of the coins? I've also noticed the coin on the left in the first photo appears to be turning green in places. Doesn't bode well for gold content... I just delivered them in today and when they had acid on them as they said they did, they were far from real and they started to etching ?
