Good point about the ribbon not showing any cameo, perhaps this is the most laughable part of the grading...it looks like someone took a low value coin as an experiment to see what they could slide through the grader...

Could always be the old switcheroo with the real coin being replaced with this monstrosity. I just can't see ICCS missing so badly with such an obviously doctored coin. Missing something this big is a huge hit to there reputation. Also they are usually decently strict with there various cameo attributions requiring both sides to be equally frosty on real deal coins, obviously they look nothing like this.

Doubt the switcheroo theory.

ICCS only requires cameo on the obverse. It's PCGS that requires cameo on both sides.

As the owner of this coin, the nicest of the four UHC MS64s graded, I'm gobstopped knowing that single finest UHC is the POS that is the subject of this thread.

DBM, send that one on the left to ICCS.(lol)

Seriously everyone, I still hold ICCS in the highest regard.

I'll take their grading (for Canadian coins) over anyone else.

Nobody's perfect.

SPP-Ottawa...I'm with you 100%...best Canadian coins should be in PCGS holders.

Mid-market stuff I go with either CCCS Hard slab, and for damaged coins ICG Hard Slab

Lower end stuff/junk...ICCS is ok

The dollar on the right was treated to the same swabbing with J&M dip a number of years ago, it's barely noticeable in the pic, it has started to retone. The dollar on the left which I swabbed yesterday still has a bit of shine on the queen, it does not have the matte look of a true cameo. The coin in question appears to have a true matte cameo, I don't believe this effect can be achieved with one or even a few meetings with coin dip, I believe that coin was at least HC before it was rendered ugly.

I'm surprised ICCS hasn't jumped on the bandwagon and put coins in PCGS style holders.
