The topic title which was changed a few days ago does reflect the severity on the issue of high quality Chinese Counterfeit coins being discussed here. Especially, for the fact that this coin went under the radar and ICCS dropped the ball. The current title does not do this important discussion justice.

Coinplus....There are reasons why it was changed back at my request. Headers of threads should not be changed randomly especially if they can potentially have future ramifications. There is nothing stopping you or anyone else to start a new thread on the topic.

Quote: ICCS brushed off my endeavors and advised me that they did not need my help. Unbelievable. I will not be sending any more coins to ICCS. Not only because their "work" of late has been terrible, but also as a result of that sort of attitude. Maybe one day they will realize that they are a lemonade stand on the side of the road on the world stage.

My question is... has anyone from ICCS been contacted about this specific "blunder" and if so what was their comment?
I understand that saying they don't exactly have a presence on the internet is an understatement so they may not even know of this website discussion thread.

Yes, I believe someone posted earlier that they inquired and were shrugged off

AgCoin, you can be assured this site is monitored closely by all grading companies, it's a pro-active way to help stay on top of their game. IMO of course but that would be a smart thing for any such company to do.
Perhaps they do not have an internet website, but there is absolutely internet access on the desktop.

I'm seeing ICCS this week.
I'll have a chat with Brian and Scott and see what's happening.

Even if they are now aware of the issue, what can be done about it now?

The arrow's been shot, and let's face it, we as well as any company can and do and will make mistakes, human nature. At times people as well as companies need a little humble pie from time to time and then we all move on....................forwards that is and let go of the past....................
In our culture there is way to much of a thousand goods undone by one wrong doing...............perhaps many need to learn that lesson yet that we all make mistakes and accept that reality and learn to move on with out holding a small mistake capitalizing over, all the other good.

With Walmart or my local pizza place, I can understand a mistake. I'd get over it pretty quick. But this is the difference between a pricey coin and a counterfeit worth nothing. I suppose the owner COULD sell it without saying anything but the fact that it was posted here leads me to believe the owner is of good moral and that will be a highly unlikely scenario. I don't know the owner personally but assume his efforts to educate the rest of us with this coin is an indication of honesty. The fact that the company that graded it was said to be less than thankful when their mistake was pointed out, and from my understanding, has made no effort to accept responsibility, makes this more than just a "mistake". When I screw up at work, there is repercussions. The credibility of a grader that grades fake coins should be on the line each and every time they grade a coin. I'm not saying have the grade go a certain way, high or low, just make sure it's a real genuine coin. I have never had anything graded but after hearing this story, I'd lean towards another company. That's just me.

Red if your reply of "With" is regarding my post, perhaps you could be more precise as to your thoughts, vs me being speculative.
They could be given the opportunity to correct their mistake and move on............., I'm sure they don't have a basket full of them, the odd one yes, I can accept, as we all should, yet bring them to task for the mistakes is absolute. I'm sure any grading company would do so upon such a given request.

Sorry, M D, my kid touched "submit reply" before I finished writing, resulting in "with". I've added to above. I agree that mistakes will happen from time to time. But own up to it and do what is right to correct the problem, if possible . I don't know all the details but it doesn't matter since I'm an outsider looking in and it doesn't involve me. The bottom line is, there are examples of coins that are really good fakes. Good enough to fly under the radar of at least one grader. Perhaps the others would have missed it as well. That should be the focus.

I do know Paul(the coin hunter) personally, we've had many a good chat in his store, I do hold high standards and yes Paul is of the same character as you have all seen, hence this thread he has shared with the community.
Perhaps at some point ICCS will offer some kind of reply here, and by rights they need too. If they really want to take care of business. If they don't then they are sinking their own ship.................and I'm pretty sure that's a road they would not want to venture down.

To clarify....
Yes ICCS has obviously been contacted. No they didn't "shrug it off". That comment was related to something different (Feel free to read through the thread). Brian or Scott will not likely be "discussing" the issue publicly with anyone. Or at least not at this stage. The coins will NOT be sold as they are and will be returned to ICCS for a review as requested. This will take some time and I will update the thread as I have more info.
