Or simply as this coin was a reward for mc, just mint 1500 or so and sell them all to your best 1500 customers who wishes one instead of holding 10% for dealers, and messing up the ordering system

Quote: Has anybody's order get cancelled if you are a platinum prestige?
New1954 is a Platinum Prestige member and got his order cancelled. I am only Platinum Plus and my order is still there (for now).

@MoneyPenney Then I guess it's a crap shoot. Did you order more than 1? All sold out, I think its to late for RCM to cancel now. They made such a mess with this coin being sold that I think they just gave up on some of the orders and maybe I'm just one of the lucky ones.

After reading Blastofffireworks post, I think, the Reps are the weakest link here. RCM just have no enough ability properly to maintain tiered online ordering. I agree, the CSR required, like for everything, not always possible to resolve stuff online. But Reps who do not timely response? No need at all.

All about perspective. You're the lucky one because you got 7. Six other high tiered MC are the unlucky ones because they didn't get the coin. But I doubt they will cancel them now though but it seems pretty random that they cancelled some orders but not other. Que sera sera. I really don't think the Mint could have mishandled this any more than they did. I'd also note that my rep sent advance notice (near midnight) saying the coin was sold out, yet it was still available for purchase on-line. And it was available at times the next day. Anyone who relied on what the rep said in that advanced notice e-mail, missed an opportunity to order the coin. That is not good service by any standard. @New1954, it's great that you are happy with dealing with your rep as you do, however, that doesn't mean others are. IMO, it's absolutely ridiculous that ordering through a rep takes more work that ordering on-line. Consider that very often I research the coin on-line before I buy. I'm right there on their website...click add to cart, checkout, done. The order is on my profile and I carry on with my day...but no, I have to switch over to my e-mail, send my rep an order request, wait a few hours or days for him to reply and then wait again to see the order on my profile. How is that 'easier'? Sure it works for coins that are readily available but for hot coins that sell out in hours, it most certainly is not ideal. You are correct that the RCM's shipping notification is terrible. If I get an e-mail, it's either after I actually receive the shipment or it has no tracking information or number. Sometimes I don't even get an e-mail at all. How does your rep help with that? Does he/she send you personal shipping notification? I doubt it but if he/she does, that would be great service. All blastofffireworks is saying is that tethering buyers to a rep with no other means of ordering makes the process more cumbersome, doesn't allow for ordering options that benefit the customer and creates a single point of failure. Human reps take vacations, need to sleep, eat, live lives etc. POS systems just need occasional downtime for maintenance. Sure we can order without using the rep, but boy do they not like that. lol. I still do it sometimes, as I did with the Voyageur. If I had waiting for my rep on that coin, I would have missed it.

@jimper, I order only one online. I hope it slips under the radar. If someone made a large order like 10 it would surely raise red flags. Quote: Sure we can order without using the rep, but boy do they not like that. My rep threaten not to send me advanced email notice if I don't buy through him.

@CC-Ottawa That's exactly why I got rid of my rep a few years back and am so glad I did. It doesn't make you more important or get better service by having a rep and if they are so unreliable or it takes longer to order a coin than why for the life of me have one. It is was a pain and aggravating trying to order through a rep. I still to this day get phone calls from reps trying to get back with me. I never respond to them. For me I will keep ordering from the RCM site and never have to depend on someone to order for me.

I am Platinum Prestige member and I bought most of my coins online instead of buying through rep because several reasons. 1. my rep usually replied my e-mail hours or days later, which was disaster if want to buy hot coin. 2. I can not cancel any RCM's order if I placed order through my rep. Tried to avoid cancelling through rep on one order by calling RCM's 1800 number. But RCM's customer service refused to cancel order on the phone and transferred my phone call to my rep. It was kind of embarrassing. 3. By ordering online, Cancel order is way easier. Just click order confirmation under order history then click " cancel " That's it. 4. By ordering online, I got extra SB cashback. Used to be 3% cashback, Now is 2%. 5. I can use Paypal to pay online RCM order. I like Paypal. My rep tried to write me e-mail and asked me politely to order RCM's coins through him. I told him " I will try my best "

Lurker out of the dark to add my Two Cents on getting this coin: First off, I'm indebted to this entire forum for keeping me in the loop on this release (as well as the Gold Delta). I hit Platinum Plus this year, and it looks like I soured my relationship with my rep in record time - I asked if he could put a hold on the penny set, since I wasn't sure I could order it online, (which I always do for cashback). Once I was able to order online, I asked to cancel the order I placed with him. This apparently peeved him enough that he ceased all e-mail correspondence thereafter, aside from his last e-mail on the Matryoshka coin. I never received the e-mail for the Library dollar. I placed web orders within the hour it came online, before the one per household restriction came up. I was able to place one more order after the restriction kicked in. I set each coin to a different shipping address. As of yesterday, all three orders were still showing as "New Orders". Checking my account status just now: only the last order is showing as Processing, while my earlier two orders are now hidden. I can still pull the hidden orders manually up by typing the web order in the URL address, and they're showing as "new order". Fingers crossed, I can get them. If I can get all three, I intend to flip two of in order to earn the cash that will justify buying the Voyageur, which I missed out on last year (I was vanilla Platinum at the time I called to place an order. Got put on a queue that went nowhere fast.) I get the feeling that coin will never drop for sale at 700, but I'd be will to buy at that price (pending what I earn on flipping, or if I even get the chance to flip). Not sure if it's because the CAD is tanking, the second renewed, or a combination of the two, but I'm seeing the Voyageur inch from the 800s now to the 900s. The Voyageur is going to become my 'White Whale' coin. Anyway, appreciate the info you all provide.

@Heresiarch_WAC We all started as a "lurker" at one point or another! There's been a ton of discussion related to RCM reps on the forums as of late, especially in this thread! Quote: I hit Platinum Plus this year, and it looks like I soured my relationship with my rep in record time - I asked if he could put a hold on the penny set, since I wasn't sure I could order it online, (which I always do for cashback). Yet another reason, in my opinion, that MC members should be able to order online direct and have any resultant commissions accrue to their assigned rep. We should be free to order in the fashion we so choose, based on convenience and timeliness. This so isn't cool from a service perspective. Cudos to you for sticking it out - maybe you could call the RCM and ask for a new rep? From all of the dialogue, service levels vary vastly from rep-to-rep. I've heard some great stories, I've personally had average satisfaction (problems always addressed), and others have outright horror stories. Asking for a new rep couldn't put you in a worse position than you are now!

Quote: My rep threaten not to send me advanced email notice if I don't buy through him. Honestly, @MonneyPenny, this is a huge concern of mine... I was a "closet reader" of this forum for a long time before posting. I was (and continue to be) worried about my RCM rep getting hold of a post or two on the forums and blowing my concerns out of context... then goodbye to my monthly advance notice and the appreciated e-mail tips / notes. As much as I have complained about RCM rep service, I fully recognize and appreciate what @New1954 and others have said about the value of having a rep. There is a place for Rep service "plus" the ability for self-service, in my opinion.

@shopaholic: Is that a "VIP Member Special"? Just tried to follow the link, and I am asked to log in. After I log in, the page disappears and asks me to log in again.

I am CC&C VIP member and the Voyageur coin is only available to VIP members. I could only see it if I log into my account.
