I use 2x2 saflips and put them in 20 coin pages to send away. I fold the page with the coins in it and that gives the coins double protection from knocks in the mail and stops any movement of the coins. It also keeps the package nice and flat

Thanks for the tutorial GR58. I have never done a submission but now if I do in the future I will know exactly how to go about it Looks like some nice coins you submitted. Good Luck!

Just from doing this post, it is making be think about how I can package the coins better. ------------------------- Quote: Looks like some nice coins you submitted. Good Luck! Nice write-up GR. I too took advantage of the FF special. I decided it was too good of a deal to pass up having almost all of my Dan Carr overstrikes slabbed for under $10 each. I waited until the last minute to ship though hoping my 4 1964d Morgan's showed up in time to be included and they did. This was a great special.

I am interested to see how they label the Dan Carr's. I have a 2009 DC ASE. The slab is damaged, if I had thought about it, I would have sent it in with this last bunch.

And that is the good part of this hobby ...
Everyone has a different opinion on what is collectable.

Excellent thread, GR. I also submitted several coins with the FF special, and my shipment arrived at ANACS just a few days before yours. I wasn't expecting the return shipment until next month, but I was surprised to get an email today saying they were just shipped. Turnaround time less than 3 weeks. You might get your results yet this week.

Dan Carr fantasy date overstrikes are now clearly not in violation... Quote: "... the federal statute prohibiting the alteration of U.S. coins requires fraudulent intent. 18 U.S.C. 331. Accordingly, the Commission finds no grounds to adopt a rule banning fantasy coins."

I always have mixed feelings about it but sometimes I use ANACS too. I know how to grade. I wonder about putting a coin in a sealed coffin never to be held again or for an owner never to feel it's true weight. It's so antiseptic and will it lead to fewer collectors overall? When you first started collecting remember the feeling of having it in your hand? Anyway, this is an excellent guide to do it right!

Quote: I wonder about putting a coin in a sealed coffin never to be held again or for an owner never to feel it's true weight. I can understand that feeling. For me that is another benefit of using ANACS. The cost is low enough that if you want to break them out, it is not a big deal. I break coins out when I know I am going to keep them for my albums. If there is a chance I might sell the coin in the future I might leave it in the holder.
