A 1973 dime with raised metal along front of face..any suggestions?

Looks like the coin was in a fire and the cladding raised on that area like a bubble. Then a coin wrapped or coin counter flattened that area leaving the damage on that area. Spendable.

Think you may be right...might explain the blackened areas as fire caused...and I used to run coin wrapping machines some years back...some of the coins that used to pass through would be a coin collectors dream..that job actually pushed me into collecting.

reminds me of a fire-damaged Roosevelt where almost the entire dime was a bubble.
As a kid I found it in a pile of ashes behind a building where they used to frequently burn garbage.
