Also, I do not have much faith in the authenticity of the English sovereign - so does anyone have an opinion on this coin as well? Palle - DK *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

Dollar was probably made to be used in jewelry, rather than to fool coin collectors, as it is not a particularly good fake.

The dollar is 100% fake, but I think that the sovereign is ok.

Thanks for your opinions. This is an American thread, would it be okay to post these two pics in another forum where people from GB see it?

You are better off providing photos 1 coin at a time.

I only have these two pictures. I do not have the computer skills to separate them even though I would have liked to do this.

I'm sure our mods will probably understand, but list this info when you realist in World coins. That way no one will think you are intentionally double listing. Use a different intro line, too.

Don't know much about foreign coins, but couldn't you weigh it to find out if it's real ?

Not too much computer skills needed if you are on a computer. Bring up the original photo where you see it on the monitor. Then press the PrtScn (print screen) button on the upper right of keyboard. Then open paint and click paste or "Ctrl" and the "V" at the same time. Whatever was showing on the monitor at the time print screen was pressed should now show in paint. Just crop what you don't want in the photo. Hope this helps.

Thanks again for all your advice. I have all ready now listed these two pictures with a new headline etc. in the UK forum.
- I must try to use paint very soon. This doesn't seem too difficult, who knows.

Here are the images separated. To save them to your computer, right click on the image and click "Save Image As" and save it on your desktop or where ever it is easy for you to find.

Rather than using paint, I would suggest Photoshop. It is just as easy to learn (well almost) and you can do so much more with it. Coop may know where you can get an affordable version of it. I used to have a link to some but I have no idea where it is....

You could take it to a pawn shop to have them test it to see if it is real gold.

Thank you. The coins are not mine, and I have not had them in hand. I was quite sure they were both copies, but I had to be sure. I do not buy or like modern copy coins - I have a site on ebay where I warn collectors about copies from all around the world - however mainly from Scandinavia and The US. I will try and see if I can get Photoshop as well - if I do not have it yet. Thanks to CWB for separating the images. Palle / Prncoins DK
