Poll Question
I would say the two-cent piece. I think it has an interesting number compared to the 2 dollar bill. I also like the 3 dollar coin. I didn't include a few of the others on the poll, because a few of these in cents or dollars in numbers are already in circulation.

I voted $2.50
And only if they were minted with Liberty or a Native American Chief for the obverse design and eagle on reverse.
I think all the others would fail for the same reasons they did in the past.
A larger denomination coin might have a chance.

Any of the gold coin denominations. With inflation, it's silly that we haven't just moved the decimal point over one or two spaces. Until we do that, a $2.5, $5, $10 and $20 coin make sense.

I would have voted for a $5 but it wasn't a choice. Obviously couldn't be gold, but maybe with a 1/5 ounce of silver.
Any coin with a little silver in it, made for circulation, would be a huge hit, I would think.

I would say none of the above. Think it's ok with just cent, nickle, dime, and quarter.

I'd have gone with $5 as well. The only circulating coin with any real spending power is the quarter, so all of the choices below that wouldn't stand a chance today. $2.50 isn't as intuitive as a whole dollar amount but works nicely with other denominations better than $3 or $4.
And what is a "trime (3¢)", as distinct from bronze or silver?

Any coin with a little silver in it, made for circulation, would be a huge hit, I would think. This basically. Other than that, I have to agree with Alpha2814 - the current system doesn't need more coins below the 5 cent nickel, the 20 cent would be nice but only if it replaces the quarter, and 3 or 4 dollars is just silly. (Incidentally, the "trime" is the silver; it's the bronze that has no basis in reality.) However, if it has to have the same composition as the original - then the 2 cent, because current prices are not supportive for a 2.5 to 4 dollar gold or 3 to 20 cent silver (the 20 cent silver would have to be roughly 1/4 gram, with all the others about an order of magnitude smaller), and the 3 cent nickel is still silly. Besides, the 2 cent piece even has a design that would fit quite well with the current shield cent (and isn't too dependent on high relief).

Too much invested in vending machines now to change much. I mean when dimes were silver and nickels nickel the sizes made sense but now? Pennies and nickels bigger than dimes and they're all made from crap metal.
Personally I would drop the penny and go to 0.05, 0.10, 0.25, 0.50, 1.00, 2.50, and 5.00 coins all sized in a sliding scale based on denomination. And I would use liberty heads on the obverse and denomination values on the reverse inside a wreath for the smaller ones (under 1.00) and a eagle for the larger ones (1.00 +). Color the smaller ones silver and the larger gold tone
But that's just me

I vote to bring the gold denominations back, just not in gold. I agree, maybe a little bit of silver. Honestly we should get rid of the cent. It's worth nothing as there is nothing you can buy with one, and when the Half Cent was discontinued in 1857 it was worth 14 cents in today's money.

@Alpha2814 - I would have, but the 5 dollar bill is already in circulation. I just wanted to put a unique amount for a coin on the poll. If this were more of a favorite thread, I would've putted that on the poll. This thread is more based on reviving a unique number of money for a coin into circulation. As for the 3 cent coin, here you go: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obsol...tes_currency@Coinfrog - Thanks for the welcome. :) @Omegaraptor - I think pennies make a good donation. They can also be used in wishing fountains, to trade in for coins and cash at the bank, to scratch a lottery ticket, self-checkout lanes, some transit buses(depending on location), stamp machines at a post office, to teach a little kid how to count, use as bingo chips, etc. I have also used 5 pennies with other coins and dollar bills for lunch money at the high school, and they rounded every item you get there to the nearest nickel. I have also done that at a few other places that round everything to the nearest nickel as well.

Three-cent bronze was a pattern coin (on first reading, I confused it with the nickel version).

Twenty Cents. No contest. We will need it when we kill the cent and nickel (which makes the quarter problematic).
