Hmm, the obv is noticeably different on the OP's piece, with more numerous rays in the sun aimed at the bird's mouth and different stars at the top. On the rev, the sigma at three o'clock is funny-shaped.

Spence, the examples I have seen are far less than carbon copies of each other. NGC World Coin Price Guide has an example that looks most similar.

Ok @otto, it sounds like you are saying that there were many die variations for this coin. My Krause talks about varieties with the 1830 10 Lepta, but not the 1828 10 Lepta. This is a little outside my area of interest so you certainly could be right.

Spence good eye yes its called a five ray variation just not sure it is real!!

I'm assuming that is is a costly coin. I would be very reluctant to pay a lot of money for a coin that may be a forgery.

This is a very pretty coin. There was a recent thread on another site where a coin that looked just like this one as well as a similar coin were discussed.
