Raised Wavy Metal On Franklin's Hair

Paul Bulgerin Pillar of the Community United States 3098 Posts	Posted 12/10/2016 3:53 pm I recently purchased this 1949-D Franklin half dollar. When I examined it I noticed two small wavy lines of raised metal on Franklin's hair. I'm not sure what this might be from. Here are the photos. Any suggetions? Thanks! CoinMasters Pillar of the Community United States 5964 Posts	Posted 12/10/2016 9:30 pm It looks to me like it's been scraped across the surface with an irregular shaped object (similar to the tines on a fork). It's caused the displaced metal to be raised. The years of wear has disguised the short scrape. Whether my guess is correct or not, it appears to be some sort of damage after the strike.
