Help With Strange Looking 1951 Wheat Penny

The coin doesn't show much wear or signs of post mint damage, but I wanted to get opinion from the experts. Report this Post to the Staff

Ross Son Valued Member United States 173 Posts	Posted 12/22/2016 3:25 pm The 3rd picture shows the dent on the left side of the penny and it is jointed with the "L" forming a smooth continuous flat. Can a post damage to a coin combine the edge with the letter this smoothly? Report this Post to the Staff

It it definitely is an interesting one because I can't notice signs of actual damage. But it may have been worn off over the years causing it to be smooth and of the same color overall Report this Post to the Staff
