In his defense, there are cases where bidders do stick with a single seller for a period of times. I have a couple of buyers like that (because of geographic proximity) and I've also bought many coins from a German dealer where it probably looked similar. Saying that, to pay this kind of money for an ICG coin is risky. Although I did cross grade a couple of ICG coins to ICCS in the past and they both crossed within a grade.

He just 'sold' an 1875 nickel for $8,400.00. ?
I guess I understand on how the bidding got as high as it did, but I can't figure why the final two bidders bid.

I evidently still have much to learn.
