AU55, too many luster breaks for a 58, but the surfaces do not look original to me, especially the reverse. Perhaps I'm just being paranoid.

When in doubt on any characteristic or authenticity I'd personally do a side-by-side comparison of the coin in question using this page because of the consistency and quality of workmanship for this site:

http://www.PCGScoinfacts.com/Coin/Detail/4381

I realize it's an MS example but it still has that movable magnifier useful to drill down on a particular area of doubt etc.

I'm at 55.

I find the 55 presented by CoinFacts below interesting in terms of its acceptable patina for a 55:

1862-Half-Dime,-Tiny-Thing

The OP's coin is copied below PCGS' coin.

Thoughts?
