MS 62. It is worth $25 maybe in that condition. 1923 is about the most common year.

the dullness of the profile and some slight wear on the shoulder leads me to believe this coin saw some circulation. I agree with IndianGoldEagle-AU58 slider

Quote: What makes them so tough? I know very little about them :) I have three of them from when I was a kid. I posted one of them on this forum and the grading opinions were all over the map. I understand why now. You really have to dive down and do your homework on the strike of each individual year. I've also posted pics of Peace dollars for sale that left me scratching my head. One example was graded @ ms-62 but looked like an au coin. I've held off on buying more because of this issue. Also, I just don't have the desire to collect these. They typically have ugly toning and you really have to do a lot of homework on each year to understand the nuances. I'm just not willing to put in the time. I find the reverse very attractive but the obverse IMHO leaves much to be desired.
