Hello,

I have a 1982 small date zinc I believe.

Could this be a transitional error?

I've weighed the coin: 2.5 Grams

Thank you

.... We need both sides to give you a grade, also I think that looks like a large date.

to CCF! with mcshilling that it appears to be a 1982 Large Date, Zinc, based on the style of the 2 and the weight you've provided, but we'll also need reverse photos to give it a proper grade.

*Edited to fix typo.

Your coin is a common 1982. It is not an error. There were 7 types of cents made in 1982:

I found a pretty nice one searching:

Geesh! You guys and your fancy equipment. Whatever happened to "old-school? My popsickle stick teeter-totter w/ a 1980D penny glued on one end has worked great for me these last three years to determine the difference between an'82 zinc or copper!

Actually there were 8 if you count the 1982-D small date Copper.
Okay, there is only one known, but it is still a 1982!
