Well these came in a job lot of coins from an auction. I didn't realise they were silver proofs until I looked closely, so please excuse the horrible fingerprint marks!

But are these Jersey 1966 silver proof five shilling coins? What is their approximate value? I've done some searching and I can only find non-silver ones. If I come to sell them and say they are silver, I want to be sure that they are the silver proofs.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply. Are you sure? I've taken a video to show how they reflect the light. The two coins to the right are Cupro Nickel, and they are dull and don't reflect the light as well as these...I mean they're just not as shiny. I just wish they had come with a certificate, it makes things a lot easier.

Surely these are silver proofs?

These coins are definitely copper-nickel. See my site at http://jerseycoins.com/pen12/pen12_el.htm for more information.

Thanks for the answers. They just look so silver-like and shiny compared to others! I found a similar set online now that are saying Cupro-Nickel too.
