Got this along with 3 other coins I got just because they were neat for $2 yesterday out of the bin, I cant find this one on ebay though to see the value but I thought I would share this one!

Looks to be a bit nicer than XF, Krause lists XF40 at $18- Nice find!

Hard to find in this shape as they weren't demonetized until the 1930's. It even looks as if there're a few traces of the original luster. It'd probably grade AU by American standards. The only issue I see are the slight rim dings at about 1 o'clock on the obverse. But absolutely a "grab it" out of a bargain bin!

Thanks for all your input! I could not find the dog symbol though in the book I looked at, there is the hand to the right of the date, then to the left there is a dog face. And yes in person, it definatley seems like some peeking luster!

As is usual with French coins, Krause's values are way undervalued.

I doubt you could get this for under $40 in France.
