Last week while going through a bank counter bag of $500 in dimes I ended up finding a 1850 Half Dime that is in at least very good condition. Also found 4 silver Roosevelt's. Wish I would find more surprises like that.

Amazing find on the Half Dime, davef, the only things out of the ordinary I have ever found are dimes in cent rolls and your typical Canadian and European coinage.

I found a 2014 shield cent some one shot a .22 through the middle
or they drilled a hole. not sure guess need some forensics.

besides my dime so far that is my strangest.

crookedDD, Trust me if a .22 hit that coin, it would be very bent, and depending on the bullet and powder load used may not even have penetrated through a cheap *** piece of garbage stinkin zinkin.

Recently found a 1943 German 5 Pfennig and a 19mm clear plastic piece I'm thinking was a lens off a mini-flashlight.

grime-5- That is probably the weirdest thing in this thread.

I have not found anything too interesting, some foreign coins, and (ironically) a token for an P uncirculated set.

That's odd. Was it a full roll besides that?

ive found live bugs before... squish em. a dime from 1850 is probably the weirdest though, found more live bugs than 1850 dimes.

It is sad to think that bugs could eventually be more common than silver in rolls.

My daughter picked up my 2 boxes of halves today, opened the first one and 1 roll was a lot taller then the rest. Pulled it out and under it was a roll of small dollars!!! Yes a $25.00 roll of dollars, it contained 3 SBA. So tomorrow I must contact the bank and ask for their advise on the extra $15.00.
