I thought the 2017 Special Edition Silver Proof Set, was to have this " S " minted ASE in that set.... Either those sets are coming out Very soon, and those numbers are included in the grand total of 75,000 coins in total, or ?

Yes, the LESPS will have the 2017-S proof ASE. The LESPS is usually released near the end of the year, so it will probably be a number of months before it is made available.

And those numbers are NOT included in the 75k. 75k is the product limit for the 2017 Congratulations Set. Some are speculating that there will be 50k (max) LESPSs made, which would put total max mintage at 125k.

And there is more speculation that this will be released in yet another product TBA, which would further up the mintage.

I think we can speculate all day what the US Mint does or doesn't do. I'm sure though they received a lot of criticism for handling the release of this set. And it surely wasn't the first time they *** Edited by Staff | The bad word filter is in place for a reason. Bypassing the filter and making the intended word obvious anyway is completely unacceptable. *** up a release with many examples from recent years coming to mind...

I can see them releasing a proof ASE set with both W & S minted coins, similar to the two-coin ASE sets we had a few years ago. Offer it for a month with no HH or mintage limits but then only produce as many as were ordered during that one-month period. This was done previously and appears to be the fairest solution, although speculators will disagree with me. I honestly think all coin releases should be handled this way - this would reduce a lot of waste the US Mint produces and keep their storage facility relatively tidy!
But that's just my opinion, of course.

This is definitely something I would buy.

I may come back to this one if the 3rd party resale value falls quite a ways south of $100. Not expecting that until at least after the LESPS comes out. And if the S-proof ends up being available in a 3rd product, I'll definitely skip this completely.

Still would like to have gotten in the front door on this one. Lesson learned.

I see APMEX has these in OGP pre-sale for $140. Available in slabs also. Gonna have to pay through the nose for these for a while if you want one.

Congrats to all that got through in time!
I did not and think since I keep mine in an album I am just going to wait a while and
pick up a slabbed PR69 one of these days so I don't have to order a new page.
