I don't see the doubling, but I rarely do until someone points it out. Hoping you're right as this is a lovely LWC.

Here is coppercoins 1927P-1DO-001
http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...ie_state=mds
It is not that one. Note the date? The shows what the hub doubling would look like.
Variety Vista lists the same die as 1927 DDO-001
http://www.varietyvista.com/01a%20L...7PDDO001.htm
Wexler's site shows the same die also 1927 1c WDDO-001
http://doubleddie.com/581934.html
But your coin looks like it might be a normal cent from what I've seen soo far?

I don't see it either. Where on these devices are you seeing notching? It's a nice coin even if it's not a variety.

Edit: you posted some more pics while I was composing my reply. I see Machine Doubling in these pics.

On LIBERTY, the doubling is N-S. Not east west. Some devices were master doubled on the wheat cents many years. The 'D' on GOD:
1927-P-DDO-Wheat-Cent?
The 'W' on WE:
1927-P-DDO-Wheat-Cent?
Some areas on LIBERTY also:
1927-P-DDO-Wheat-Cent?
Although I can't find an image, the Bottom left on the 'B' is also master die doubling. You can see it on different years of earlier die state coins. But in order to be a coin from a certain die that is attributed, all hub doubling must match. If not, then it is not from that die.

Coop, exactly what about the date is different on the 1927 DDO-001? I have never been able to tell this one from just looking at the date.

This is a DDO-001

The digits appear thicker, especially on a lower-grade example.
