Nice! And even lower price than I anticipated.
Anyone think it'll sell out that same day?

At first I thought quick sellout but then remembered that the 2017 medal has been on sale for three months and only sold around 44k...and with NO HH
SO who knows....I would say by a set if you collect but probably not a speculative play
There will still be stupid prices as pre-sales and flips but it won't last.

I have the first proof and wasn't very interested in this set until the mintage and household limits were set. If my job allows me to be in front of the computer when it goes up for sale I will give it a shot.

I agree with your sentiment. I plan on getting a set for both of my boys if I can find the money. I doubt it will sell out the first day, maybe in a month or so.

It might go into "currently unavailable" after a few minutes, which might cause the sets to go for a big premium on ebay until a few days later when it is discovered that more units will be available. Those who were unable to get a set during the initial few minutes and quickly went to ebay will be angered once again. Repeat, repeat, repeat.

I do not think it will sell out "minutes" or even "hours" fast. I am unsure if it even will in 24 hours. It could. Maybe.
I am definitely getting one, that was a given once I saw the packaging and how it is a nice compliment to my 2014 Silver Kennedy set.

I'd expect a 4min sellout here. Limited product with enough demand and looks stunning. Just a lowly 25k orders at 2-per gets this done. The regular medal is mintage unlimited so no urgency and I bet we see more sales towards the end of the year.

Interesting analysis. It is probably fair to say that given recent history, anything is possible with this set. As I have said many times about many mint offerings, I will be happy as long as I get one for myself.

Has there ever been 50,000 of anything released by the mint, with a HH limit of 2, that sold out in minutes?

The household limit is a throttler because big buyers need to enlist people to make surrogate purchases. However, those many extra buyers can make for a more congested website at the opening bell. Could be frustrating for some of us.

It has been a while since I have experienced any issues placing an order at release. I always verify my account settings first thing in the morning. I make sure I am logged in a few minutes before, staying on the product page. I hit F5 right at noon (ET) and have at it. I hope the fits and crashing remain away.

Quote: The regular medal is mintage unlimited so no urgency and I bet we see more sales towards the end of the year. I would be very surprised if anyone reloads on those. They're for sale everywhere and the sale prices are less than impressive. Also last years medal has cooled off significantly and that had a much lower mintage and was much more popular. There's no shortage of these available for any dealer that wants inventory and it just isn't worth it from a time or financial standpoint for the big boys to reload on that one barring a big upswing in their market. Plus the 2018 world products are out/coming out now and the 2018 ASEs are coming up at the end of the year.
