Hi,

That's the result of a tiny die chip. When a small piece of the die breaks away, it leaves a small raised area on the struck coin.

I've seen die chips before, but never inside a number like that. Thanks. Have a good...one.

It's a very common occurrence in all denominations. Here's a die chip inside a 9 on a cent.
