1859 Canada 1 Cent - So Many Varieties - Who Knew . . . .

aghawk Valued Member Canada 343 Posts	Posted 05/13/2017 11:25 am So I came across this in a collection I picked up . . . sadly only AG-3 I think - maybe V-4 if I dream . . Never having one of these before I did not know about the varieties and am trying my best to identify. I think this is a narrow 9, low 9 variety but as to the double or triple punching I have no idea. I'm suspecting no double punches on this and am asking for other opinions. Seems like this is one of the more common varieties and not worth too much especially as AG-3. If you can provide full photos of the dated (reverse) side, we might be able to tell you which Haxby variety it is. You can go to Dr. Haxby's website and search for clues yourself to which die pair it is. www.vickycents.com Check the reverse of your coin for any die cracks through the maple leaves.
