What are the chances of getting a set and then sending off for grading and getting a PF70?

Quote:I predict this to go currently unavailable within minutes tomorrow as existing inventory gets snapped up. This will be followed by a quick spike up in price on ebay as people make panic buys thinking the entire 225k is sold out accompanied by a mad rush at the shows that will have them for sale. Then once people realize that they haven't all been put together yet and the run isn't completely sold out, prices will settle but for still above list. TVG called this one. I just got one from the Mint too.

I kind of feel like the big dealers were hoping that without the HHL they could corner the market for these by buying up all the inventory. A bunch of them went all in buying boxes of 50, 100 or more. The fact that these aren't really sold out is got to hurt. Now they are kind of forced to buy up what is left, or otherwise no one will pay their marked up price when the same item can be bought from the mint at issue price. The wind in the ebay sails have to be going out now, lest someone just start buying from the mint and immediately flipping. I still think these don't sell out for a couple weeks or a month, and that this time next year, they will sell for less than issue or at issue price.

Regardless of popularity, we are still talking about a potential mintage of 225,000. They aren't like ASE where people buy rolls or monster boxes. They aren't commemorative, even though they don't circulate. Even if everyone bought two (like me) you still need 112,500 collectors who want two each. Are there that many collectors that would buy these?

I am very happy that many of you who missed out on the release are now able to get a set or two! Quote: Are there that many collectors that would buy these? Yes. Every single cent, nickel, dime, quarter, half dollar, and dollar collector who wants to have the most complete sets possible.

Quote: Unless some people are actually having to live their lives out in the world and away from a computer instead of having nothing else to do except watch a computer screen for US Mint updates Well I will hazard a guess that those people will come home at some time today, look at their computer, and be able to order a set if they wish. The Mint obviously is not sold out of these sets if they are still available four hours after being relisted. These are not CC issues or faulty orders Sooooo: Quote: No reason for anyone not to get one now.

Yes, I am still thinking it was the ready-to-ship stock that made it unavailable and for whatever reason they chose to not give it back-order status.

The mint should have been more transparent and put out a statement on the day of the "sellout" so that people wouldn't have bought these sets at $50+ on ebay in desperation.

Quote: What do Back Order, Currently Unavailable, and Sold Out mean? Back Order: When products are in "Back Order" status, this means that the product is available for sale, however there is no inventory in stock and a future ship date is displayed on our website. Products in this status can still be ordered online or through the Customer Contact Center.
Currently Unavailable: Currently Unavailable products have no remaining inventory in our warehouse and no additional production is scheduled. Additional inventory may be produced or become available. If so, customers who opt to receive an email notice will be notified that we are taking orders again.
Sold Out: Products in "Sold Out" status are no longer in stock in our warehouses and are no longer available for sale. Products in this status will be removed from the website shortly after they have sold out. So no inventory, no more production but inventory may be produced?
