Just got an order in! I was tempted to add a regular 2017 uncirculated set to the order so I could compare the 2 side by side, but decided it would have just been an impulse buy collecting dust in the future. The truth of the matter is, there are a lot of lazy people that won't recheck the mints website and go straight to secondary market on ebay. The same thing happened with the re-release of 7070. People are paying a premium on ebay vs going to wizard or desert directly. This isn't coin collector specific, it is every market- I've seen the same thing with hot products around holiday that are readily available in store or on web and people will jump to pay premium on ebayEnd of rant going off subject Edited by CLS12

The lesson to be learned here is "Patience, young Padawan, Patience".
I just ordered my one set and had no problems with the checkout, now I have to check out with the wife. I have a birthday soon so I guess this is it. On our anniversary she hinted that she wanted something shiny and went from 0 to 180 in 3 seconds, so I bought her a bathroom scale. I suppose those were tears of joy.

The previous posters got it right.
I was able to order a set with my usual annual album update filler Proof Set, Silver, Mint Set on 8/3/17.

I had some interest in this set, was just going to pick it up with a few other things from the mint on the first of the month. I wasn't able to log on until about 1:30 and as you know they were unavailable. I actually checked out what folks had listed already and almost bit at $43 but thought better of it. Got home today around 2:30 saw the email from the mint and instantly cursed myself as I thought I would again be too late. Not so, still plenty left, ordered the set along with some others I was waiting to get.
I'm glad to see that pretty much whomever wants one, if they waited a day, can get one without getting gouged by flippers and dealers.

Quick check on ebay looks like prices around $45 on buy it now... quick math $45- $6 (eBay/shipping)- 30 (original price) - $5 for mint shipping = $4 profit? I'd imagine if this remains available direct from mint that they'll be receiving a ton of returns. Does the return policy allow this or do you need to show issues with the sets? If it does allow it, I imagine household limits will be enforced in future ... if returning in bulk is an issue, this might lead to the big boy dealers off loading for a loss on the sets they don't think will grade 70.. and by loss, I don't know what the mint gives for discount to the large orders, so they could still break even under cutting mint pricing |

I'm pretty sure the mint would not be too happy to see lots of 100 sets or more coming back from one customer. I have no idea how they handle that.

I would not want to be the mint in that case. It would certainly give them a good lesson in why the household limit is a good idea.

Just reading this post .. saw some were available today..
Logged on mint site .. the were there ...
Picked up a set ... and a three roll set of quarters ... no problem.

Cannot believe I forgot about this. Even more, I cannot believe I was just able to order one! The mintage of 225,000 makes for the second lowest JFK half with the 1998-S Matte Proof being number one. This one even outdid the silver 2012-S. So I wonder if this JFK will be a sleeper until more people see just how rare it is? And how do I go about getting rid of the other coins in the set  How much squash could a Sasquatch squash if a Sasquatch would squash squash?
