Larry L Chapman II New Member United States 8 Posts	Posted 07/07/2017 1:40 pm Hello folks I know the subject of Weight Tolerance on the 1982 & 1983 has been discussed in the past but I just came across this 1983 that weighs 2.7g consistently, I have weighed it 5 times now and it is consistently 2.7g and I'm not sure what to make of it. It's weighing in between the tolerance levels of the copper and the zinc. By the way I found this going through an antique fire extinguisher full of change most of which hasn't seen the light of day in 25-30 years! The parents of a close friend were kind enough to let me search through it and right now I'm on day one of searching through this possible treasure chest! Report this Post to the Staff

Pete2226 Pillar of the Community United States 3332 Posts	Posted 07/07/2017 3:10 pm The weight of a cent is 2.5 +/- 0.13 g. Doubled plating which would be = 16 microns would put it close. I don't know if doubled plating is possible. Report this Post to the Staff
