I hope I have this all wrong. Oh, to heck with trying to explain it. This isn't as cute, cool, and innocent as it seems. Feelings will be hurt with those that aren't cool and in with the hip crowd "WITHIN" CoinCommunity. This shoots a big hole in the cohesiveness of CoinCommunity. Now when you come here it won't be like checking in with the "WHOLE" group, it will be like going to the Mall.

I have nothing to lose or gain with my next statement because it will be my last post for obvious reasons:

Bobby and Susan..

Personal attacks are not allowed

Twentycent

There is no actual clique here, these are just folks from the forum having some fun !!

I dont collect from the darkside thus I never concerned myself with a possibility of this being viewed as you have viewed it!!

For that I apologise ,, if your concerns could have been conveyed differently I'm sure that this situation would have been avoidable !! Not that all is lost I for one would hope that you reconsider leaving the forum, I know that I appreciate you here as I'm sure others do as well.

Please reconsider !!

Twentycent am I missing something here.
This seems a very strange reaction.
What does it matter what people wish to call themselves or groups they wish to belong to. I for one am here to leach as much knowlage as I can be it from a Valued Member, Pillar or self proclaimed Knight. It matters not to me what group or sub group the members of this forum choose to belong to. What matters to me is that people here will explain things to me if I ask nicely.
Rest in Peace

Twentycent,I truly hope you a just kidding. This is all in fun. Read the threads that led to this "club". You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but your comment about Bobby and Susan was downright rude. Mike

When I got on my computer this evening and saw the post from twentycent, I was shocked. I probably shouldn't have been shocked however, in that as a teacher and newspaper writer I realize that when dealing with large groups, one is almost certain to encounter a large variety of opinions -- some of them difficult to understand.

Knight of the Coin Table isn't a sinister thing, but a short-lived way to bring a little fun into some lives. For instance I felt that Morgan Fred's comments were some of the funiest things I have read in weeks. They brightened my evening considerably.

The idea that something like this takes away from the "group" is also hard to understand. We are all unique. Some collect, some speculate. Some like gold, others silver, copper, or other metals. Some like modern, some ancient. Some U.S., others foreign. Some specialize in currency rather than coins. Some of us have barely enough money to buy a few common dates while others have collections which have to be housed in safety deposit boxes. So, nope, we aren't all alike. Those with an intense desire to be just like his/her peer, need to think about joining the army, and heading for basic training.

I think that a look at the number of members who have read this thread, and posted, suggests that most of us have had a good time with the "Knights" thing.

Perhaps, as discussed recently, we do need a new area for posting themes which deviate from straight coin collecting? At any rate, in this sometimes dangerous and scary world, I suggest we need a litle comic relief from time to time. The five of us who are currently Knights, can assure twentcent that there is no evil intent to our little group. We are just having a little fun. So, join in, get a life, and have some fun with the rest of us.

Plus, this is a great coin forum, with or without the Knights, and you should reconsider leaving it.

This whole Knight of the Coin Table come about from those of us who collect foreign coins and our efforts to share the "FORCE" of the darkside with our friends and other collectors. This has evolved over time just as the A.O.D. designation which simply means Ambassador of the Darkside which again means, we want to influence new comers and old collectors alike to take a look at foreign coins, the value, the history, the culture and quite frankly the fun! The internet has opened a whole new world, not only to U.S. collectors but to our friends all over the world. Quite honestly this little group is NOT going away as new efforts are coming to concrete this unique little organization that intends to tie foreign coin collectors together to buy, sell, and trade their coins. Want to join, not to hard, just get interested in foreign coins, do a little trading and start a collection! We will do the rest and at this time there is NO DUES and NO monthly payments. There are surprises coming which should be a lot more fun than we are having now so stay tuned. OH, one small requirement would be to promote coin collecting in a positive way ALL the time and to respond to all others with RESPECT and as an equal BROTHER/SISTER in the realm of coin collecting regardless of race, nationality or religion! Chivalry is back and we intend to keep it!

Yes there are female kinghts
They are the Rose among the thorns
and my favourite female knights
wear knighties

(So That may qualify a few other female darkside collectors as they may already have the uniform)

I'm sorry to see that twentycent didn't understand that we're just having some fun here! I don't know what was said, but I hope he can reconsider and rejoin us. Honestly, we'll let anyone in, all you have to do is claim ownership of Aussie coins! (Hope I don't get in trouble for revealing secrets here... )

The artwork is done for the first issue (2006) serial numbered, limited edition of 250 Knight of the Coin Table wooden dollars that are coming soon. If this unique organization lasts through the year there will be a redesign for 2007 and new color as the 2006 will be Purple ink. Front will be the CoinCommunity Knight on his raring horse along with the date and the reverse will show a crown with CoinCommunity Forum A.O.D around it. And they are serial numbered to enhance collecting possibilities down the road? Guess who gets the first strike, so to speak? You are WRONG as I intend to send it to MOM for giving us such a great place to play! Who knows, these may become sought after collectors items and yes the 2007 will be a design change! I have learned a lot from the government mints!!!
Will post more information as I get it!

The words Coin Community Forum are being withdrawn from the artwork and finished woodedn dollar and will be replaced with "Collecting World Wide" Have contacted the manufacturer to make necessary changes.

*****Effective immediately the Knights of the Coin Table will be going underground until we can find a forum of world wide collectors to move our open discussions. Thanks and everyone PLEASE keep in touch as we move forward!

Kyra is correct!

We are not an elite organization.

But we are a fun organization.

To become a member, all one needs to do is show an interest, be a darkside collector, especially Aussie coins, and come across as a good and helpful numismatist.

Well rggoodie they aren't showing any country but are advertising our world right here in the CoinCommunity Forum. They are generic for all the Knights from all over the world. You still need to be a foreign collector (darksider) to get in but I think our numbers will grow rapidly!!! New members being inducted again this week as we reach out to foreign collectors everywhere to join us and our forum in 2006!!! More coming I am sure!

In that NDGOFLO has been determined to be a darkside coin collector, and in that NDGOFLO is held in high esteem by fellow collectors, it is our distinct pleasure to name him as our sixth "Knight" of the Coin Table.

Congratulations NDGOFLO, and may your tenure as part of the Coin Table be long, pleasurable, educational, exciting, interesting, rewarding, and a highlight of your numismatic career!

Can I please also nominate ageka to the Round Coin Table As a darksider, he certainly has met the requirements of a Knight with his useful advice and thoughts that he has given so freely to assist members here.

In the days of the Knights, there was a king known as Edward Longshanks...Ageka living so close to the "bloodsucker" can be knighted as Sir Ageka "Longfangs"....
