I'm not an expert but the die combination is correct for this year. Type 1 obverse with Type 2 reverse. if it is genuine I put at a possible MS63/64 range and a very nice coin

Appears to be an impaired proof strike, probably PR58 or so, if authentic.

I think it's good but the kind of coin and very counterfeit
Someone wants to overlay it to an original I've tried 2 times has given two different results

1876 had three valid obverse / reverse type combinations.

T1 / T1
T1 / T2
T2 / T2

(no T2 / T1)

According to PCGS coinfacts, T1 / T2 proofs do exist (most were T2 / T2), but are exceedingly rare.

This coin is a T1 / T2, so if it is a proof it would be RARE.

I compared with two slabbed type-2 1876 proof Rev and have some reservations on authenticity.

This can be an expensive coin with many known counterfeits(especially T1/T2 combo), so I would not purchase it without a full money back before sending it to a TPG.

So, comparing it with PCGS PR64 same type reverse from Heritage, I see some differences. This does NOT mean your coin if a counterfeit since pictures can be deceiving. However, I am pointing out the differences. An expert needs to examine this with coin in hand.
