checking on my 1980s pennies , I found this one which it looks doubling on the date ,mint mark , on liberty. what do the experts see?

I see doubling...I think...although your pictures could prove to be clearer. I won't rule out either MD or DD without better pictures.

If comparing to varietyvista, check the the MM locations, which seem to differ a good bit so not a die match. I'm just not seeing DDO as well. Thanks, Doug.

It looks like a real DDO to me. I see extra thickness and separation lines on the date.

What do you see that makes this a DDO? All I can see is Die Deterioration Doubling as it migrates towards the rim. The D may have taken a hit but can't tell for sure on the pictures.

Mark, look at the better detailed picture. It's a DDO because there's separation lines on the date and extra thickness. It just happens to be DDD or SPD. Go to this link. doubleddie.com/829033.html

Are you looking at the bigger picture? Cause the smaller picture was taken from varietyvist to show what a 88-d DDO looks like.
