I picked up two 1876-P Seated Liberty quarters, and I noticed one looked different then the other. After a little research, I think one of them is the Type I reverse. I know little to nothing about the series, and only grabbed them because they were cheap, and had a nice look. But now I'm wondering if I accidentally cherrypicked a rare variety. It's Breen number 4080, fyi

Please look at the picks, and see if you agree. If it is a Type I reverse, what king of premium does it carry?

For reference, here's the NGC page on it; https://www.NGCcoin.com/coin-variet...rev-25c-5216

It certainly looks like it even with the circulation wear. I would say good cherry picking!
Rest in Peace

I think that you are on to something here...it does indeed appear to be a Type I Reverse...also known as Breen B-4080 and Briggs Reverse A.

Variety Diagnostics : Letters TAT in STATES nearly touch.

Comments: This reverse hub was used 1866-76 and is transitional with Type 2 for 1875-76 quarters. It is rare for 1876.

I'm pretty convinced it is the Type I reverse, which I read (although I'm not sure if it's 100%, that the Type I reverse was a proof die. I also can't find anything on rarity or value.

It was in an auction. I wasn't even planning on getting it (them), but they went cheap, so I grabbed them.
