I agree. It is one that is easy for me to see when I have one of each side by side, but was a bit more difficult when they are solo. I think I have the hang of it now, even with tricky photos.
First you might want to check to see the weight of the 1982 cents you have. If they are 2.5 grams, they are zinc. If they are 3.11 grams they are copper. Then you need to know what to look for on the dates for large and small dates: The size of the devices are different, even the bust sizes are different on the large and small dates: You might want to copy these images and save them for your personal files.
