Do you mean a U.S. War Nickel? That would be a heck of a get today in change. I've found one in circulation from a bank box of nickels.

@Carrigna

I'm a little confused about your origins. You seem to have a pretty broad knowledge base of coins and currency which, is unusual in a good way. Are you Irish? An answer is not obligatory, of course, I'm just curious because of what you've written across several topics.

Edit: any relation to County Cork?

Yes, I was referring to a U.S. Second World War Nickel.

To answer your question, since you so kindly share the family photos with us here, I am happy to tell you. I am a British-born Irish American. I often jokingly tell people that I was born in a wrong country namely England. Yes, on my mum's side, her family hailed from County Cork. :) Not only that, my Dad is from north of Ireland and we still have heaps of family there and all over the UK.

You do have a better knowledge of American coins than I do. All of us have different knowledge here and there. :) I have learnt something new from your posts.

I couldn't remember where I asked the question and just now found your response. Thank you!

I only guessed County Cork because of your username.

That is what is makes this forum so great. I am constantly learning from others and I'm happy when I can share that knowledge with others.
