reason for ? like most coin collector new or old have you ever look at the 1961-1969 the 1 6 0 line up the 1982 Wheat cent the 1 8 2 line up some 1961 62 63 64 65 66 67 68 the 1 line up some dont line up exsample to back my story focuss on the 1 and the 6 some date the 1 line up with the 6 what iam missing help

I'm not sure what exactly you're asking.

You can't really compare them across different dates.

Dookie, if you notice the 19 are in the same position on almost all the coins. The 1 is a tad lower across the top but is same year to year, Master dies were produced using the same Mold on the Galvano units to transfer the images of the Bust, LIBERTY and the 19 on most coins from the same mold. Small changes would occur year to year, to the bust, front of coat, necktie, most all minor and unnoticible. So slight changes in detail placement was just part of the die making process. Only thing your missing is just that, not any error, just normal die making.

As to your post question, in 1960 BOTH were used. They were having trouble with the larger dies breaking among the details and tried a smaller, but went back to larger in 1961.

I thought it was the smaller version they began 1960 with but the had problems and changed to the larger version. Which they then kept for the following years.
